Trail Work Volunteer – Give Back to the Trails You Love

At the Prescott Mountain Bike Alliance (PMBA), we rely on dedicated volunteers like
you to keep our trails rideable, sustainable, and fun for everyone. Whether you’re a
seasoned rider or just getting started, volunteering for trail maintenance is one of the
most rewarding ways to support our community and ensure these trails stay open for
generations.

Why Volunteer?

  •  Keep the stoke alive — Help maintain epic local favorites like Bean Peaks
Gravity Flow Trails and Spence Basin so they remain safe, smooth, and exciting.
  • Build community — Work side-by-side with fellow riders, make new friends, and
enjoy post-work snacks and good conversation.
  • Learn new skills — Gain hands-on experience with trail tools, sustainable
maintenance techniques (including IMBA best practices), and land stewardship.
Past events have included IMBA Trail Care Workshops.
  • Make a real impact — Your efforts directly preserve access, prevent erosion,
clear debris, fix ruts, and improve flow for all users.
  • Ride with pride — There’s nothing better than shredding a trail knowing you
    helped build or maintain it.

Regular opportunities include:

  • Second Saturdays — Spence Basin trail work
  • Fourth Saturdays — Bean Peaks maintenance (brushing, tread work,
    contouring, etc.)

Sessions typically run a few hours in the morning (e.g., 9 AM–noon), with tools
provided. Wear long sleeves/pants, closed-toe shoes, gloves, eye protection, and a
hard hat (bike helmet OK). Bring water and snacks; refreshments are often provided
afterward.
