Trail Work Day and Volunteer Appreciation Event
November 17 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
We have lots of newly-cut trail in Spence Basin that needs our finishing attention. Come on out for the work day at 9 AM and stay for the Prescott National Forest Volunteer Appreciation Barbecue afterwards! There will be something for everyone to do, so come, join in, and share in the ownership of our local trails (and get fed!) And a special bonus incentive to come out and help; our good friends at Bikesmith Cyclery are sponsoring the workday and will have treats for all the workers!
Parking for the trail work will be at the lot where trail 332 crosses Iron Spring Rd. We will carpool and walk in to the work locations. Note the start time of 9:00 AM, please arrive on time so we can get organized and started efficiently. Also consider sharing rides to get to the meeting point.
This is a Prescott National Forest trail work day so you MUST wear long pants, long sleeve shirt, eye protection (sunglasses are OK), good work shoes, bring gloves, sunscreen, snacks and plenty of water. Tools and hard hats will be supplied. Bicycle helmets are acceptable if you want to ride into the work area.
The Volunteer Barbecue will be held at the Emmanuel Pines Camp “Upper Field” starting at 12:30 (don’t worry there will be plenty left for the trail crews when they arrive) Address for the Camp: 3000 Spence Springs Rd, Prescott. Please RSVP for the barbecue to Jason Williams at firstname.lastname@example.org or 928-777-2220 by November 15th.
